A chic and unique getaway.

The Chapel has been exquisitely converted into a stylish, comfortable, five-star holiday destination with a unique character. Furnished in a contemporary style with a mix of deep Victorian colours and accented with copper and brass fittings throughout, it still maintains original features such as the organ and the pulpit.

As you walk through the front door into the main hall, the huge candelabra is a show stopper, as is the enormous L-shaped sofa and glass and steel gallery.

The light, spacious and airy kitchen is very much a family room with a large marble finished central island and rustic, pine dining table, deep raven dark walls and units kitted out to the highest standard with all the mod cons. Upstairs is equally sumptuous with two good-sized double bedrooms, with tall windows overlooking fields of buttercups and decorated in rich colours to compliment the history of the building. The bathroom has a deep copper roll top bath and there’s a large copper rain shower, with Victorian green metro tiles.

An ideal retreat for music lovers, complete with a baby grand piano and Sonos sound system, make The Chapel a very unique and sophisticated holiday destination for grown-ups looking to get away from it all.

The perfect weekend getaway

"For a little slice of countryside paradise, jump in your car and head west for the weekend. Three hours west to be precise.  Here you'll find the Mendip Hills and, tucked inside the hillside village of Ubley, this week’s cool stay of the week.

An old chapel, this holiday home near the Cheddar Gorge and Bristol is perfect for a weekend getaway.  The chapel has been renovated and restored into a two-bedroom house with a large living area and stunning bathroom – all while retaining its organ, pulpit and other original features.

The upstairs bedrooms offer stunning views over the countryside and in the bathroom the copper roll top bath adds a touch of elegance.  The large kitchen is perfect to cook up your favourite meals and the living area offers a flat-screen TV and a lovely, large couch for you to lounge about and relax.

A trip to the local pub, the Ring O’Bells, is a must. Along with the great food and service, it has been known to house secret gigs by the likes of Kylie Minogue, Coldplay and Duran Duran"

A musical weekend in the country!

We had a wonderful time relaxing with our four teens at this beautiful converted Chapel in Ubley. Miles and Luca were very accommodating setting up extra beds for our sons on the mezzanine and checking the wifi worked for us when we arrived.

It was a perfect place to play our instruments too and make use of the baby grand piano. We had Sunday lunch at the local pub 'Ring o bells' which they also own. They remembered our daughter was a vegan and cooked something just for her.

We would highly recommend these places and hope to visit again next year

A benchmark for high end holiday properties

“It was with a stroke of luck that I came to discover The Chapel.  It’s quite rare to be truly impressed and genuinely surprised when staying somewhere for the first time. The Chapel is beautiful! The design, the space, the quality of finish and attention to detail. Clearly newly renovated and run by experienced and passionate owners.

Keen cooks will love the large and open kitchen which is also a relaxed social space. The bedrooms are comfortable and cosy.  The renovations are sympathetic to the chapel’s past, beautifully finished and rich with artwork and warmth making you wish you could stay just a little longer.

The Chapel is the benchmark for high-end holiday properties in the area. I went back for a second stay. I’d love a third!”
